Quality of peterpan peanut butter

AI Highlights
  • - The reviewer reports Peter Pan creamy PB has excess oil and tastes bad.
  • - They seek an explanation for the oil separation and a refund.],

I am writing to complain about the quality of the peanut butter (creamy). I enjoy Velvet brand best but my Husband has always enjoyed Peter Pan.

Two times we have bought the Peter Pan creamy and it has an excessive amount of oil build up in the jar. This looks bad and also tastes bad.

I would like to know why this has been happening. Please do not tell me that it means it is better with the oil on top.

I am requesting an explanation for this and a refund for the jar we won't eat. I am hoping to hear from you soon.

Thank you,

May Ellen Reister

I chatted a few minutes ago and am not interested in the ad asking for credit card information to continue. Why should I have to pay to continue? There is no reason I am not interested.

Pros:

Cons:

Peanut butter was very thin had to keep stirring it.

Company needs to stir every jar before sending it out to customers. It looked thick on top, but when I went to stir it was very thin and oily. When it should be somewhat thicker.

User's recommendation: If you have a problem with a product let the company know so they can check it out and fix it.

I've been by my peanut butter from...

I've been buying my peanut butter from [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA] in [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA], [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA], for the last couple of months. I had to throw away my peanut butter; the big jars have always been tasting funny.

I know the taste of [PERSON_NAME]; I've been buying [PERSON_NAME] Pan for 45 years, and I've eaten two sandwiches a day. I'm very disappointed, and I had to throw three jars away.

That's three months that [PERSON_NAME] has tasted funny. I started to open them in the store and taste them before I buy them.

Recipe and taste change

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - The recipe was changed and peanut butter now tastes like a store-brand.
  • - I've used Peter Pan all my life; I'm 70.
  • - It now tastes like a cheap store-brand.

You've changed the recipe and made your peanut butter taste like a store brand. You should be ashamed.

I've been eating Peter Pan peanut butter all of my life and I'm 70 years old. It now tastes like one of many cheap store brands. Why would you do this? Has everything got to be about your profits?

Does quality not even play into it anymore?

Time for me to move on somewhere else. Your product tastes like crap now

User's recommendation: Find a different brand. This one just tastes like a store brand cheap peanut butter. It used to be really good but that's not the case anymore

I love peanut butter. Over a period of two years Ive gotten some bad Peter Pan peanut butter.

It is very oily and very very salty and some has lumps in it and its not crunchy peanut butter. You need to do something about the quality control.

Thats ridiculous. Im 79 years old and have eaten for as long as I can remember.

DO NOT MICROWAVE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - The jar had no warning not to microwave.
  • - Microwaving with the lid removed caused sparking and damaged a new microwave worth about $300.

There is nothing on the jar that says DO NOT MICROWAVE. I put the jar (lid and cover removed) and it LITERALLY sparked and blew up my microwave.

Mind you it was a new microwave.

I am out a 300. Microwave!!

Getting bad jars of peanut butter

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Longtime Peter Pan fan; supply issues during COVID.
  • - Jars were lumpy and less tasty; switched to Jif.
  • - Suggest quality control to avoid losing customers.

I have been a fan of Perter Pan peanut butter for many many years . With the covid lock downs we trouble getting Peter Pan and seemed as if Jif(my second favorite) was easier to acquire .

But finally Peter pan was back. But the last 3 jars of Peter Pan have been lumpy instead of creamy and have not seemed to taste like they did .So have gone back to Jif .

Seems as if you have lost another customer of many years . You need to do a little quality control i think .

Cons:
  • More pricy than jif also

Preferred solution: Just letting you know quality seems to of dropped

User's recommendation: I will not say buy or do not buy it is your choice and mine is mine
